Donald Trump’s meeting with Zelensky: World leaders are gathering in Washington today. The meeting is being held in remembrance of the 1975 Helsinki Conference, which established peace during the Cold War. Ukrainian President Zelensky, U.S. President Trump, and European leaders will discuss measures to end the war in Ukraine
European leaders will arrive at the White House on Monday at 9:30 PM. They are in Washington to participate in the summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to CNN, Trump and Zelensky will meet at 10:30 PM, followed by a bilateral meeting between the two leaders scheduled for 10:45 PM. After that, Trump will meet with the European leaders at 11:45 PM. This meeting is considered especially significant because, for the first time in nearly 50 years, so many world leaders are coming together in one room to try to stop a war

The purpose of the meeting was to end the Cold War and establish peace and borders in Europe. After the Helsinki Accords, the ice of the Cold War began to thaw. Now, 50 years later, European leaders are once again holding similar meetings in the U.S. capital
