US President Trump wants to hold a trilateral summit with Putin and Zelensky on August 22. He will meet Zelensky on August 18, in which European leaders have also been invited. Zelensky will meet Trump in Washington on August 18. Trump has also invited the leaders of European countries to the White House meeting.


Putin and Trump talked for 3 hours
Putin and Trump met on August 15 at the Elmendorf-Richardson Military Base in Alaska. Both talked for about 3 hours. Before going to the meeting room, both had a face-to-face conversation in the limousine. After this, three people from both sides held a group discussion. The Russian delegation included Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, while the US side was represented by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and President's special envoy Steve Witkoff.
Trump has already said that if this meeting is successful, the next meeting will be with Putin. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz says that the trilateral meet will take place after the Trump-Zelensky meeting on Monday. However, there has been no official statement from Russia regarding this.
